A slender arm sliced through the water with skill and precision, as Eve swam in a pool lane. The team had left them in for anyone who wanted to practice outside of practice. Though Eve was not on the team, she knew full well that she would be an asset in competitions. It came from growing up on the coast of France, on the Mediterranean Sea that was warm almost year round. The girl knew how to swim, to say the least. Marseille could account for the elegant stroke she displayed.
Coming to the wall, she spun around in the water by flipping and kicking off the wall and started stroking back to the other side of the pool. It would be nice to exercise in the gym, but Eve could never bring herself to do so. Just imagining all the sweaty bodies that used that equipment, and how “often” they had to be cleaned… that was the one upside to the overly chlorinated pool.
Coming to the other side, Eve became aware of a set of feet at the edge of the pool, and she stopped swimming. Gripping the gutter, she pulled her goggles off and tossed them on the deck, looking up at her visitor.

"Where to go, where to go?" Irene mumbled to herself. She was running away from one of the teachers who caught her peeping through the teachers lounge. Don't get her wrong, she wasn't one of those people who loved or frequently got in trouble. After her homework slid under the door, she just had to peek in, to see if she could get it. Unfortunately, a teacher caught her and she ran away.
She turned to a corner and saw the inviting doors to the pool. Irene slowed down and slid into the door and and watched the teacher pass by. She heaved a sigh of relief and walked forward, only to notice a girl doing laps around the pool. "Um, hi?" were the only thing that came out of her mouth when the girl looked up to her.

It took Eve a moment to recognize who was standing above, but it clicked quickly enough after she had tossed the goggle away. Doing a pull-out from the side of the pool, Eve sat on the edge of the deck and squeezed the excess water out of her long tresses, only then remembering that she had not actually answered Irene’s strange hello.
It was not that the hello was out of place, really, as they were on cordial terms with each other… despite the atrocious outfit she was flaunting, but it was very strange to see her in the Pool Area… at least, fully dressed. “Strange swimsuit.” Eve said bluntly. She didn’t really think that it was a swimsuit, though with some of the things that clothing companies dared put on the shelves, she wouldn’t have been surprised… and it was exactly the kind of thing she would expect Irene to wear.

Irene looked down to check what she was talking about. She was wearing a yellow tank top with a lace jacket over it and jeans. She thought about that comment and remembered that she was in the pool area. "Thanks. It's my favorite one," she said, trying to hide the fact that she was really irritated the that girl.
She turned around and walked towards one of the chairs and sat down. "Oh, please, don't mind me. I'm just going to sit here until someone passes by. Carry on with what you were doing," she said to the girl. With that, she pulled out a notebook and started doodling mindlessly. What is her name? Think Irene, think. She's obviously a Senior. It took some time for her to remember her name. Eve? I think it's Eve, she thought. Irene just sat there, in a daze, staring at nothing in particular.

Eve knit her brows and glanced back at Irene when she answered dryly. Eve was not sure if that was a playful joke, or a snide remark. Either way, Eve could not think of how to respond in the moment and was for a rare moment, quiet. But that did not stop her from think how very peculiar Irene Kerr was acting. Then again, Eve had never claimed to fully understand the girl. She admittedly did not understand anyone who would subject themselves to anything less than she would. Where all humans not alike? Did they not deserve to do themselves the same justice that she did herself?
Brushing the excess water off of her skin, and not really paying attention to what Irene was saying, Eve turned back to her. Irene was sitting in the chair right by the bleachers, where Eve’s towel was draped. It was a Ralph Lauren towel, white with one blue stripe and one read. It would be ridiculous to most to have a logo towel, but that was Eve for you. “Would you mind terribly?” Eve asked, reaching her hand out expectantly, as though Irene might know by telekinesis that Eve was asking her to toss the towel over.

Irene broke away from her gaze when she heard Eve's voice. She looked at the girl with her hand extended. Irene shot a confused glance and looked behind her, trying to figure out what Eve was trying to tell her. "Um, I woudn't mind doing what?" she asked.
This is what she hated about this type of people. They expect that people would automatically understand what they wanted them to do.
[sorry if it's short. I couldn't think of anything else.]
