Jon wove his Jetta through the streets of New York. He was surprised at how easily he had grown accustomed to the city. But he supposed that was to happen. He parked near the Cat's Tail and ducked inside. The club was warm and loud, just the way he liked them.
His outift was simple. Perhaps not club appropriate, but Jon didn't care. He was, on the other hand, surprised at how he was slightly nervous to meet Colbie. IT was certainly a feeling he had never felt before. He shrugged it off and headed over to a table by the bar to wait for her.

Colbie raced around the dorm room, probley driving Macy insane. Colbie would be the girl who would leave getting ready until last minute, thinking it wouldn't take long, but in reality, it took Colbie twice as long as she had realized. She found herself running around the place, like a chicken with its head cut off. Finaly after deciding to wearing her hair half back, she ran into the bedroom, to finish getting dressed. She wore a grey shirt, and a skirt, with black tights, an outfit that she thought was very club and weather worthy. Finaly throwing on her jacket, pulling on a pair of black boots and then grabbing her keys, she was out of the dorm, and walking to her car.
As she pulled up in her '63 Mercury Comet, she knew she was late, and there was no way in pretending she wasen't. As she walked into Cat Tail, she breathed slowley, and deeply to calm herself, being nervous, and running around wasen't a great combination. Finaly, she noticed Jon sitting by the bar. First, pausing for a moment, she then began to walk over, making sure not to fall this time, "Hey. Sorry that I'm a bit late."
another view of her outfit.

Jon raked a hand through his hair. He felt like a dork, sitting in the club all by himself. But he thought Colbie would be there soon. He glanced at his watch and noted the girl was already ten minuites late. And as usual, Jon began to blow things out of proportion. Thoughts ran through his head, like maybe hed gotten the day or time wrong... But then a familiar voice snapped him back to reality.
Jon looked up to see Colbie and he didn't fight the smile that stretched over his face. Hey. Its alright. I think I was early anyway. He raked a hand through his hair again as he took in her outfit. Well.. you look nice. He said with another adorable grin.

Colbie really did feel bad for being late, but she wasen't about to tell Jon it was because she was running around like mad while she was getting ready, because she had put it off. Colbie laughed at herself on the inside. Although her and Jon had really only had two incounterings, it was always her who had done something that needed apolizing. For some reason, when she was around Jon, she wasen't herself. Colbie, the usually offbeat prep, was found acting like, well, an actual prep, ditzyness and all.
When he ran his hand through his hair, Colbie felt her knees buckle. For some reason, Colbie had always found that attactive in a guy. "Yeah, that traffic out there really is bad," She said, blaming the traffic for her lateness, "And thanks. You look pretty spiffy yourself." She said, with a smile growing on her face.

Its OK. Honestly.Jon said with a grin. He knew traffic. Yes, they do have traffic in Pittsburgh. He grinned at Colbie as she compliemented him. How could he not? Everyone loves compliments. Thanks He said in reply. He looked over her again. God, she was so pretty. He cleared his throat for a moment.
So, are we just going to stand here and look pretty or are we going to dance? Jon asked with another grin. He held out his hand to Colbie, waiting for her response as a new song came across the speakers.

"Still. I just feel like its always me doing something." She said to him. Yes, the constant 'its okay's and 'dont worry about it's got annoying, but Colbie didn't want to leave a bad impression on Jon, expically when the two knew very little about eachother. Heck, for all Colbie knew, Jon could be some big creep or something.
"Well, my plan was just to sit here and do nothing," She said, jokingly, "But dancing sounds like a blast, seeing as we are at a club." She said, taking Jon's hand, and following him out to the dance floor.

Jon laughed at her comment and smiled as she took his hand. How could he not? For all he could tell, he was falling for this girl big time. And he wasnt too sure how he felt about that. Usually the girls fell for him, never the other way around. He was a bit confused, but he tried not to let it show. After all, she might not like him. He wove his way through the club, heading for the dance floor.
Jon easily moved to the beat once they reached the dance floor. He'd been told more than once he was graceful... for a hockey player. He looked over at Colbie. So.. tell me about yourself? As soon as that phrase slipped from his mouth he wanted to slap his forehead. Lame much?

'As if he laughed,' She though to herself. Not only was that comment made up on the spot, it was yet another thing Colbie said to embarrass herself. Jeeze, what was the total now, 5? As they wove in and out to make their way to the dance floor, Colbie sighed. Dancing, finaly something that Colbie wouldn't mess up on. She had been dancing for, well, as long as she had been cheerleading. Dancing is something that you needed to be able to do while cheering, and luckly, it came to her easy.
"So.. tell me about yourself?"
What was there to tell about herself, without making herself sound like she was giving a leture on her life? Finaly, she stopped thinking, and just spoke, "Um, I moved here when I was 14 with my mom and sister from Califorina, after my parents divorce. And, random fact of the day about me, I probably have the biggest record collection you'll ever see." She smiled, out of happiness. She though that those couple sentences summed up her life pretty well. "Anything should I know about you?" She asked, hoping that he would share some stuff about him now.

Jon looked over at Colbie as she spoke. Cali? Well that sounded.. fun. He'd never been to California and had fraknly always had a little desire to go, But he wasnt about to voice that one. At the record collection comment he grinned. Bet you always have something to listen to. He grinned. But then she asked him the same question.
Jon thought briefly before speaking. Well, I just moved here from Pittsburgh. And by just moved here, I mean I was in Pittsburgh last Friday. Um. I've been playing hockey practically since I could walk.. and for your random fact of the day... I cant stand stale cereal He said with a grin.

She though about his first statement, 'I guess you always have something to listen too'. You would think that with that many diffrent choices of songs to listen too, you would always have something, but in Colbie's case, she was always looking for more. Always looking for something else to listen too. But not because she was sick of the stuff she had already listen too, but because she just needed that new sound.
"Stale cereal. Hmm. Never would of guessed that to be someone's peeve, but it makes sence." Colbie laughed, with her smile growing. For some reason, when she was around Jon, she found herself constanly smiling, constanly being a bubbly, fun person. Yes, this was her, but it wasen't fully her. Colbie wondered if she showed the rest of her personality, if he would still be standing there across for her, still be there dancing.

Jon grinned at Colbie as she spoke. Yeah. Well. I like my cereal fresh He said, laughing. It was an odd peeve but hey, since when did anyone's pet peeves make since? And yet another question, why couldnt he stop smiling around this girl? Hmm.
He looked up at her as the song faded out. So, you thirsty? He asked, nodding toward the bar. He wasnt suggesting to get her drunk. Lord no. Normally, yes. That would have been Jon's style but not with Colbie. Nah. He wanted something more here than his usual "lets just hook up and ill call you when i need it again". No. Jon might actually want something more here. As in, an actual relationship. He looked at her as the next song began.

"Sure," Said said, not really know what she wanted to drink, but knowing the fact that she did want something. Colbie didn't really know what was going to come out of what was going on between her and Jon, but it couldn't be any worse than past relationsips. Most of them we're more about the benifits, and less about the love, but thats all high-school relationships were now, right?
"I really don't care what type of drink," She said, answering his next question before he asked it. As the song changed, so did the mood of it, which ment Colbie adjusted her rythem and beat, so she didn't look like a loser. As she listened to the lyrics, it was a song she didn't know, probley a new song, by some talentless group, but talent didn't matter anymore in the music industry. It was all about the image, which upset Colbie. Just because someone was good looking, it didn't mean they could sing.

Jon smiled as she accepted. It was odd how he just got those darn butterflies flapping around whenever she smiled at him. It was certianally something he'd never experienced before. He wrapped his arm around her waist before gently leading her to the bar.
He grinned at her next words. Well, that made things interesting. Squelching the old Jon that would have ordered her the strongest thing possible, he spoke to the bartender. Two waters. And that just made things even more interesting. But Jon didn't need to drink, he felt drunk just being around Colbie. As the water slid down the bar, Jon caught it and handed a bottle to Colbie. He took a drink of his own before sitting on the nearest barstool. Better? He asked, his eyes meeting hers.

As he wrapped his arm around her waist, she felt a feeling in her stomach that she haden't felt in a while over a guy. Yes, she had gotten that feeling over preforming, or speaking, but never really over a guy, and expically not to this intensity.
"Thanks." She said, taking the water from him. Water. It wasen't like Colbie was planning on getting drunk or anything, but the last time she had water at a club was... well, she couldn't even remember. Opening the bottle, she took a sip, and put the lid back on. She wouldn't let this little, minor detail ruin her night. "Yes," She laughed, "Much better." It wasen't like Colbie was a short girl, she was about 5'8 or so, but next to Jon she seemed short, and it was nice to be able to look him at eye level now.

Jon smiled at Colbie as she spoke. He cleared his throat for a moment before speaking. I hope you don't mind not actually drinking... He broke off, not too sure where he was going with this. He couldn't exactly be all, "Colbie, I hope you don't mind drinking, because I already feel drunk and I haven't had anything." Even in his mind, the words sound stupid.
Jon looked up and met her eyes and unexpectedly flushed. What the hell? He never blushed. He hoped it just looked like it was because the club was heating up. He swallowed another gulp of water trying to calm his nerves. And to prevent him from having something to say. He wasn't too sure what to make of this situation. Usually he had no problem talking to girls.
