Gwynne kept her face blank as her mind processed the question. She should have guessed he would ask her this. Now she only had to find a loophole to the truth. She didn't intend to try and skirt around the question and just accept the consequences. She wasn't like that. This would be hard, but she didn't have to elaborate on the topic. Coming to this simple conclusion, Gwynne quickly worded her answer then said it out loud.
"Family crisis," said Gwynne. It was the truth, and she didn't have to say anything else. She didn't intend to anyway. It was her secret and only her immediate family were to ever know about it.
"Truth or dare?"

Nathan was expecting a more detailed answer than that, he was a bit disappointed. That wasn't as revengeful as he would have liked, but it was better than nothing he supposed. And he could always ask more about it if she picked truth once again, although he really didn't want to force anything from her, but she wouldn't have to answer. But by her answer, he could tell that it was something serious, something she'd rather keep a secret, her first lie alone told him that. Nathan let her quickly brush the topic away by asking the question.
"Truth." Nathan answered without a moment to think. He was definitely not going to choose dare after the last two things he had to do, even if they were just especially bad for revenge. He didn't trust Gwynne with dares one bit anymore.

Gwynne settled down with her legs crossed and her hands holding her ankles. She scanned around the parking lot, searching for a truth as if one would be hidden behind a bumper or fender. She bit her bottom lip.
She knew as the game went on, the truths would run low then dry, until they were asking what each other's favorite flowers were. Gwynne's was an aster, but she doubted Nathan would ever ask her that. Her gaze turned to the sky, watching steadily as the clouds morphed and unwound before her eyes. They drifted lazily across the sky, bringing her thoughts with them.
A moment later she had to yank herself from her reverie and blink at Nathan, her eyes losing their glazed look.
"Have you ever felt attracted to somebody? Like, at this school?"

Nathan also sat down on the grass and thought for a moment, though he wasn't sure why. The answer was a simple one. He couldn't think of anyone he had ever felt attracted to, which was pretty sad. But perhaps someone had slipped under the radar, maybe he has had a crush, but just couldn't remember it. He probably had one in the younger grades, but that would be back in California, not in this school. That's pathetic, he had wasted pretty much his entire life until this point being lonely. How depressing.
"..No. I always pictured myself being single for the rest of my life..I didn't really bother." And that statement was true. Along with being friend-less as well, but that one wasn't true since today, which was also pretty sad when Nathan thought about it.
Nathan looked back at Gwynne. "Truth or dare?"

Gwynne blinked. Always? She thought about it for a second. That was pretty sad. He never had a crush? She never knew that was even possible. And the fact that he had never bothered was unsettling. Never one for the whole relationship thing, Gwynne thought herself as neutral with that. She had crushes, true. She had admitted a couple, but she had never not had some attractions. She supposed girls were just more fickle.
She didn't yet trust Nathan again, and still wanted to play one more round safe. It was how she was after all. Gwynne watched a small section of cloud meld itself into a bigger body of white fluff.
"Truth."

Nathan bit his lip, thinking. There weren't many good questions left to ask. He wasn't going to ask about her 'family crisis', that would just be mean. Perhaps he should have been thinking up truths instead of dares before, now he had to think of one on the spot, which wasn't one of his strengths. After a moment of thinking, he decided to go with the classic question.
"Who do you like? And if you don't like anyone, who would you choose if you had to?" Nathan asked. "And that's like as in a crush." It wasn't the best question, but he couldn't think of anything better. Nathan looked at Gwynne, awaiting her answer.

Gwynne launched herself into an explanation about how she didn't have a current crush, but if she had to she'd have to choose a guy in her science class. She described him briefly, as she couldn't pronounce his last name correctly. Leaving things at that, she flicked her hair over one shoulder and blinked at Nathan.
"Truth or dare?" she asked. "Please pick dare. We're running out of truths here." She made a minimally devastated face.

Nathan nodded slowly as she explained the guy. He wasn't exactly interested, but he wasn't going to stop her speech. Finally she finished. "Truth or dare? Please pick dare. We're running out of truths here."[/i} Nathan laughed.
"As if I trust you with a dare. Truth." Nathan replied, smiling slightly. He knew if they continued like this, they'd have to stop playing soon, which wasn't a great loss through Nathan's eyes, even if it was amusing to watch Gwynne write a love note to a guy she hated. But he still didn't get the paybck he wanted, which wasn't good. He'd just have to hope Gwynne would pick dare during the next round.

Gwynne rolled her eyes at him. Nobody really did trust her with dares after the first couple rounds. She leaned back and searched around her mind for a question. She rubbed her temples, lips bunched thoughtfully. What would be a good question..? Feeling somewhat frustrated with the lack of good truths she could ask Nathan, she instead let her hands collapse in her lap.
"Why don't we just call it truce?" she said finally, raising her eyebrows innocently. "It'd be funner if we had a bigger group too."

Nathan frowned, that meant Gwynne would get away without getting payback for making him do tap dance in a bus. How unfair. But t least he wouldn't have to answer any more of her questions or do any more dares. He would probably have to get going soon too, so it was probably wise to stop playing now so he didn't have to leave in the middle of a dare.
"Fine,we can stop playing. BUT, I will get my revenge." Nathan said, his frown turning into a small smile. He wasn't going to let her get away that easily.

Gwynne blinked at Nathan, then raised her eyebrow. Revenge? The tap dance which he barely did was her revenge. Double revenge anyway. People always said that payback was usually doubly worse than the first deed itself. Which was true, in this case. She glanced at her watch, realizing her last class of the day was going to start in fifteen minutes. She turned to look at Nathan apologetically.
"Sorry, I have to go get to class again," she said. The time they had been playing was during her spare period. She got to her feet and shook her head at Nathan. "Those two dares was my revenge on you. So unless you want this vengeful circle to continue.." She trailed off, her expression all innocence.

Nathan nodded as she explained she had to go. He was probably missing a class right now, or just about to be late anyway, he wasn't really sure for he had no idea what time it was. Ethier way it would be smart to leave as well. He stood up after her.
"Fine with me, I just want to get you back." Nathan said with a smile. He'd probably forget about getting his revenge tomorrow, or just decide not to bother. But Nathan said it as he was definitely going to get her to do something she didn't want to so she could be constantly paranoid about it, although he highly doubted that would happen.

Gwynne nodded then put on a playful scowl. He could try to get her back, but she doubted he'd ever be able to. She wasn't one to step lightly, so she didn't intend to watch her back. Personally, she wanted to see what sort of prank Nathan could ever come up with. Probably something to do with switching her textbook with a magazine about trucks.
"Toodaloo," she said brightly. Gwynne stood and turned to go then stopped. She didn't have any classes with Nathan and she had never seen him in the halls.
She hesitated before asking, "When can I expect to see you again?"

Nathan smiled and watched Gwynne as she turned then stopped. He could tell she had wanted to say something but wasn't sure what exactly. He was about to ask what was wrong but she began to speak first.
"I don't know, when we bump into each other again?" Nathan said shrugging. He was glad Gwynne wanted to see him again, he wanted to see her again too, but he wasn't sure when they would. It could be months until they just happen to be in the same place at the same time again. "Unless you want to arrange something." He added on to the end.

Gwynne grinned and nodded in agreement. The two times she had 'bumped' into Nathan proved to be amusing and quite fun. She felt like she was finally getting him to open up a little. When he said if she wanted to arrange something, her expression turned thoughtful. She wasn't the best at schedules, so she wasn't sure if she had a random dentist appointment planned.
"Sure," she said. "I'm pretty sure for the next month I have nothing but school going on."
